SEMANTIC-SYNTACTIC FEATURES OF THE OBJECT OF THE INFINITIVE IN THE FRENCH LANGUAGE
Abstract
The article is devoted to the semantic and syntactic features of the object infinitive' semantics of the main verb controlling the object infinitive and its connection with the imperative mood. It is indicated that the object infinitive can also be combined with verbs that have causative power, but differ in "degree" and "direction of causation." The degree of causation of the verb' controlling the object infinitive, can be active and passive' their subject acts as actively committing intentional purposeful effort or as an obstacle' cause of imperfection of the object infinitive. Different degrees of causative power of the main verb is associated with different meanings of imperative mood in speech situations.
