Abstract

The article describes linguistic interpretations of temporal realities related to “a hundred years/century” as attributes of the Russian and Korean linguistic world pictures. The study involves an analysis of the lexical expression of the concept of «a hundred years/century» in Russian and Korean languages, exploring similarities and differences in linguistic interpretations of time through the analysis of proverbs. The influence of unique cultural aspects on the formation of thematic diversity in proverbs in Russian and Korean languages is determined. The methodology includes analyzing linguistic data, identifying key themes and motivations in linguistic units, as well as the interpretation of results in the context of the cultural significance of time. The comparative analysis of proverbs in Russian and Korean languages reveals that both cultures, despite their unique features, share common values and aspirations. In both cultures, the values of health and longevity hold a central place. The brevity of life is noted in both Russian and Korean proverbs. In the «Relationships between people» theme, both cultures emphasize the importance of mutual respect and the ability to cope with life's challenges. However, each culture expresses these ideas using its own images and metaphors.
