SALAMAT VAFO'S SKILLS IN USING PORTRAIT AND LANDSCAPE IMAGES
Abstract
The article analyzes the types, development process, and tasks of portrait and landscape. The skill of using landscape and portrait images in creating images and revealing their characteristics has been studied on the example of two stories by Salomat Vafo, "Elat" and "Argimchak". In both stories, one can see that the writer uses a dynamic type of portrait; that is, the image of the character is not separate from the plot event but is given in small details through the language of other characters, talking about their mental experiences. The writer used the landscape to reveal the mental experiences of his characters, mainly in parallel and contrasting ways. The story of "Elat" is narrated in the language of the main character, and through his mental experiences and memories, every reader can draw a unique image of this character in his mind. In the story "Argymchak", the writer assigned the task of drawing the portrait of the main character to other characters. Through their mutual conversation, the picture of the main character appears in our imagination. Comparative-typological, psychological, and systemstructural analysis methods were used in the research process.
