APHORISM AS A SUBJECT OF LINGUISTIC RESEARCH (On the example of German and Russian languages)
Abstract
The present article deals with the problem of aphorism as an object of linguistic analysis. The article also considers aphorisms as a means of expression reflecting people's wisdom and public opinion. The authors analyse the semantic saturation of aphorisms, their artistic and scientific aspects, as well as their instructive and original character. The aim of the work is to study the peculiarities of the functioning of aphorisms, their varieties and classification, as well as to identify the differences between aphorisms and other types of statements, such as universal sayings, winged expressions, proverbs, phraseological phrases and epigrams. The focus is on identifying the main characteristics of aphorisms, their role in language and culture, and different approaches to classifying the genre. The article is an overview of modern research on the problem of aphorism, as well as a stimulus for further study of this genre in linguistics and cultural studies. The results of the study allow to better understand the nature of aphorism as a unique genre and highlight its peculiarities among other forms of short statements. This article brings a new perspective on aphorisms and their role in language and culture, offering an indepth analysis and comparison with other related forms of statements.
