CRITICAL THINKING AND INFORMATION LITERACY: EFFECTIVE TOOLS IN THE MANAGEMENT OF INFORMATION RESOURCES AND MEDIA COMPANIES
Abstract
The article examines the relevance of critical thinking and information literacy as key skills for media companies in the context of information overload and the spread of disinformation. The aim of the study is to analyze the impact of these competencies on the effectiveness of information resource management and content quality. The novelty of this work lies in its proposal to integrate critical thinking and information literacy into the strategies of media organizations, which can enhance their market resilience. The research methods include an analysis of existing theories, case studies from real practice, surveys among representatives of the media industry, and interviews with professionals in the fields of media and education to obtain qualitative data on the impact of these skills on company operations. The results show that the development of critical thinking and information literacy not only improves the information processing workflow but also facilitates more informed decisionmaking. This, in turn, is critically important for maintaining audience trust and creating high-quality content. In conclusion, the article emphasizes the necessity of incorporating these skills into the operations of media companies to enhance their competitiveness and resilience in today’s information landscape.
