Abstract

Learning foreign languages at a young age makes an important contribution to the overall development of students, thereby contributing to the development of their emotional, creative, social, cognitive and language skills. This article discusses the issues of early learning of foreign languages, in particular German, analyzes the descriptors of the language skills of children of preschool and primary school age, describes the benefits of teaching German grammar using the “self-identification of grammatical structures” approach. The author gives recommendations on the application of the very approach based on the results of a practical research project within the framework of the DLL advanced training program "Deutsch lehren lernen".
