Abstract

Language accumulates the centuries-old experience of its speakers and performs a representative function. Through linguistic means, it reflects the relationship between the individual, culture, and society, as well as the characteristics of individual linguistic personalities. Proverbs are among the linguistic units that most vividly preserve the historical experience of a people and the social, aesthetic, moral, ethical, and spiritual worldviews formed on its basis. Speakers of different languages often act as bearers of traditional cultural and linguocultural values, including social, moral, and religious norms expressed through proverbs. This article presents a comparative study of the paremiological fund of English, Russian, and Uzbek from the perspective of anthropocentrism. It also provides a statistical analysis of proverbs and sayings in the three languages.
