Abstract

This article examines some problems encountered in translation activities when working with literary texts, particularly when working with literary works containing humorous texts. The issue of the practical application of knowledge obtained with the help of modern cognitive science is considered. Based on the data of cognitive linguistics, observations of the translator's thinking (consciousness) are presented, and at the same time, information important in the coding process in translation is presented in the form of a diagram. Also, the interpreter's cognitive space of available information in the decision-making process was determined. We have developed our research on the expression of the feeling of humor in the translation of humorous texts, relying on the semantic theory of humor by V. Raskin and the theory developed later as the general theory of oral humor by S. Attardo. In the process of expressing the feeling of humor, the translator complements the elements that form the scripts. This method of schematic description allows one to understand the translator's thought, determine the structure of the script, and analyze the degree to which the sense of humor is manifested in the translated text.
