Abstract

The article analyzes the establishment and development of economic journalism in Uzbekistan, a relatively young but rapidly advancing field, as well as the primary responsibilities of mass media outlets that operate in this space. Comparative research was done on the scientific perspectives of national and global scientists, as well as an analysis of the typological features of economic publications. The topic of genres, a major determinant of print media's circulation, audience, distribution area, and popularity in the contemporary market economy and transitional time, is examined, and scientific recommendations are provided. The article's relevance lies in the fact that it identifies economic journalism issues through its typological characteristics. The typology of the press pays attention to circulation, and financial sustainability, and the fact that the readership has been declining in recent years has been proven by specific examples. Tabloid journalism elements are preserved, advertisements take up more space in newspapers, and economic analysis is highlighted as one of the main issues being studied in economic publications, showing their scientific novelty by providing recommendations and suggestions from a practical standpoint. Their implementation not only preserves the economic publication audience but also contributes to its expansion and increasing quality.
