LINGUISTIC CREATIVITY IN LITERARY TEXT

Abstract

The article is concerned with the problem of linguistic creativity in fiction, and the peculiarities of linguistic and cognitive representations of the author’s creative thinking. The topicality and novelty of the research are determined by a) a new approach to the analysis of linguocreativity from the perspective of cognitive linguistics and linguoculturology. The aim of the research is to reveal the linguistic and cognitive mechanisms of creative linguistic units in the process of their formation and perception in fictional texts. To achieve the set aim such methods as taxonomic analysis, method of parametrization, and conceptual analysis are employed. As a result of the conducted research, the following conclusions have been made a) linguocreativity is one of the significant categories of fiction; b) linguocreativity is characterized by structural and semantic complexity, by language deviation, interlevel verbalization, unconventionality, ontological and contextual determinism, and stylistic expressiveness; c) the cognitive essence of linguistic creativity is manifested in the cognitive processes of metaphorical projection, conceptual integration, mechanisms of generating new senses on the basis of inference; d) the category of linguistic creativity is correlated with the categories of expressiveness, emotiveness, imagery, evaluation, that determine the stylistic potential of linguistic creative units; e) cultural significance of linguistic creative means lies in their functions aimed to transfer sociocultural values, both universal and nationally specific.
